2020 Miles Franklin Literary Award Shortlist Event
The Miles Franklin Literary Award, supported by the Copyright Agency's Cultural Fund and Perpetual, will announce its shortlisted finalists for 2020 with a LIVE YouTube presentation on Wednesday 17 June commencing at 4pm. @_milesfranklin @milesfranklinliteraryaward

The Miles Franklin Literary Award is recognised as the most significant and prestigious Australian literary award by publishers, booksellers and reading enthusiasts. The Award celebrates novels of the highest literary merit that tell stories about Australian life. See the longlist here.
Having been established through the will of My Brilliant Career author Stella Miles Franklin, the Award has distributed over $1.2 million in its 63-year history, recognising the talent of some of Australia's greatest writers including Patrick White, Thea Astley, Thomas Keneally, Peter Carey, Alex Miller, Michelle de Kretser and Melissa Lucashenko.
Each shortlisted author will receive $5000 from the Copyright Agency's Cultural Fund.
The judging panel comprises Richard Neville “ Mitchell Librarian of the State Library of NSW and Chair, Murray Waldren “ The Australian journalist and author, book critic Dr Melinda Harvey, Sydney-based bookseller Lindy Jones, and author and literary critic Dr Bernadette Brennan.
The Shortlist Event hosted by ABC Radio Presenter of Focus, Cassie McCullagh will unveil the Finalists for the 2020 Miles Franklin Literary Award.
