Colour Box Studio are all about celebrating artists and creatives, empowering them to make a living from what they do, and fostering a supportive and thriving creative community, so they've cooked up Art to Art "“ an artist talk by folks who are making it work in creative fields (and a non-scary networking meet up)! Come along and hear from Melbourne-based illustrator and designer, Carla McRae.
Carla (also known as The Paper Beast) creates beautiful, calming line drawings depicting characters exploring, going about their daily activities or enjoying moments of peace, along with luscious plants and geometric shapes. Carla also creates large colourful murals, books and zines, and is the creative director of Australian sock company Odd Pears. You'll hear about Carla's creative process, what it's like to work as a freelancer and across multiple creative practices, what it's like to build a new creative community after relocating, and more! Colour Box Studio Members' work will also be on display in a mini pop-up shop.
$5 donation on the door for non-members (free entry for members!) and drinks and snacks will be available. Come down, meet some like-minded peeps and join the creative conversation.
