AURA
Tapas Club & Miami Marketta present AURA, an Art Exhibition featuring Gold Coast illustrator and painter Anika Kirk. This isn't the first time Anika has exhibited with us, and that's because we just can't get enough of her work! Luckily for us she never stops creating and has a whole new round of artworks to bring us this month. For ONE NIGHT only Anika will display her pieces as Tapas Club serves up delicious food and drinks to the smooth tunes of DJ Freddy Fly Fingers.

Anika Kirk works in marketing and graphic design by day and night owl illustrator / artist. She is inspired by life, pop culture, fashion and travel. She prefers to create rather than sleep and can be found most nights in her studio, pencil in one hand, cup of tea in the other, scribbling from her daydreamer and deliriously tired subconscious. Anika's works have featured in multiple publications including Artist's Palette Magazine and Stolen Publications.
Her creative ideas are quite unique, and seem to be an extension of her quirky personality and sense of humour. Last time we saw her at Miami Marketta, she gave us a feast of ultra- detailed illustrations, featuring familiar cute and cuddly creatures such as kittens and bunnies, but take a step closer and you see their unexpected human expressions and alternate lifestyles. We also had the treat of viewing some of her abstract paintings too.
In her latest exhibition we will see this wonderful contrast of illustration and abstract again, this time focusing on geometric shapes and mountainous landscapes inspired by Argentina, in colours of the aura in a sunrise or the facets of a crystal, she aims to evoke happiness and wonder for the viewer. Come and take a walk through her pastel universe.
