AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER REGROUPS AFTER MELBOURNE LOCK-DOWN TO OPEN SOLO EXHIBITION, VITAL SIGNS
Mike Rutherford's photographic exhibition, Vital Signs, was meant to open on the day Melbourne went into lockdown two weeks ago. Like a lot of artists (especially those associated with the RISE Festival) he was left out of pocket and more importantly without an audience. The West End Art Space will be holding what is being touted as a Re-Opening this Thursday 17 June with the exhibition extended to Sunday. According to West End's curator, Anna Prifti said that, "despite the COVID restrictions we have sold a number of Mike's beautiful images already online and he has had significant media coverage," she said. "Artists have been hard hit by the lock-down but they are a resilient bunch and I think that works like Mike's transcend these hiccups."
