Popular Western Sydney comedian Rob will debut his first solo show Allergic to Salad' following his series of stand-out performances in two of Sydney's leading live comedy fixtures, 10 Comedians and The 7 Comedians Show.
Allergic to Salad' is a relatable and rip-roaring dive into Rob's battles with food, his challenges as an Aussie man, and his misadventures trying to raise two daughters.
It's a front-seat ride-along with a big guy navigating his way through this Insta-thin world, said Andrews, whose clever show shines a hilarious light on the realities of weight loss and growing up in Australia, and much more.
Lucky it's a bench seat, so there's plenty of room, he said.
Andrews' one-hour show is the latest in a series assembled by local comedian and producer Sean Morahan, the showrunner behind regular hit productions such as 10 Comedians, which have become major comedy staples in Sydney's entertainment scene since their first sold-out shows in 2015.
Laughter really is a great stress reducer, Morahan said. Our audience feedback has never been higher since the start of the pandemic, with many show-goers saying how good it's been to have some light relief during this period of uncertainty.
And Rob's show will be another night of hilarious relief “ even if you love salad.
The support act for Rob Andrews' debut solo show will be local funny-man Ben Willshaw, another popular comedian on Sydney's comedy circuit.
Allergic to Salad was originally scheduled for a 2020 Sydney premiere but was delayed due to the pandemic. Andrews used the extra time to pack the show with even more gags than he'd originally planned.
Tickets are $25 plus booking fee. The Stonecutters' 'Ridge Brasserie' will be open for dinner before the show and pre-show table bookings will be sent by email with ticket confirmations. Salad will be offered but it's unlikely Rob will partake.
Tickets are available at www.lols.com.au/rob. Previous comedy shows at the venue sold quickly so booking early is advised.
Rob Andrews' Allergic to Salad will be held Saturday 21 August 2021 at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club (86 Stonecutters Drive Colebee NSW 2761). Doors open at 6:30 P.M. The show starts at 9:00 P.M.
COVID-19 permitting, Rob plans to tour the show through regional NSW in 2021/22. Details and tickets for Rob's future show dates will be updated at the same link: www.lols.com.au/rob
