Constructive Journalism is a novel approach to covering news stories. It provides greater context, focuses on solutions and reports on problems in more constructive ways. It does so through a combination of rigorous reporting and empirical findings from psychology and communications science. The goal: to engage and empower news audiences. And to counter the crisis-focus and negativity that has come to dominate much of the mass media's news coverage.

HMKW's 3-week intensive course introduces students to the concepts of Constructive Journalism and offers them the opportunity to produce their own constructive journalism stories. The program is delivered in English and intended for students with a keen interest in journalism as well as journalism professionals.
