Skeffington"s Cookie Jar Series utilises the bright colours of well-loved sugar candy, the Liquorice Allsort. Like Skeffington's exhibition, this layered sweet comes in an endless variety of shapes, colours and sizes, accounting for its "allsorts" name. "‹
This delicious exhibition is a nod to Andy Warhol"s 'Cookie Jar' collection, Winnie-the-Poo"s 'Honey Pot' and the 1970"s must-have Bendigo Pottery Bread Crock. Each of Skeffington"s hand-thrown repetitive forms, uniquely adorned with cast and Allsorts motifs, has its own unique character."‹
As with Skeffington"s earlier Vase Form Series, Sweet offers another take on a ubiquitous vessel form of long ceramic history, dressed in the memorable colours of a century-old sweet.
Preview and purchase from 11am Saturday 1st April. Official opening 3pm Sunday 2nd April. We are open from 11am - 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday during exhibitions.
