Arguably one of Australia's most exciting live acts, Alpine have just released another pop gem 'Crunches' taken from their J Award-nominated album, YUCK. Conceived as a textural idea, 'Crunches' is one of lushest sounding tracks on the record.
Sharing the stage with Alpine in West Brunswick is chaotic, but dreamy Dorsal Fins. The brainchild of Melbourne's busiest and hard working trumpet-playing song-writers, Liam McGorry (Saskwatch / Eagle and the Worm), their debut album 'Mind Renovation' was recorded in just one week channeling musical chameleons Javelin & The Avalanches. A triple j album of the week it was called "a strong and motley crew of best mates, who together make sun-kissed, genre-shifting alt-pop goodness. Opening the evening is electronic-pop duo Leisure Suite, an act that is guaranteed to charm the ear with wistful vocals of Bridgette Le, coupled with the sleek production from Mitch Wood with their sultry and soulful jaunt into electronic-pop paradise.
Latest single 'Feel' certainly follows suit, holding true to their name with a sound that's as leisurely and luxurious as it comes. Think lush, undulating synths layered under velvet-smooth vocals awash with reverb from their forthcoming self-produced EP Lay Low, with finishing touches left to the keen ear of mastering guru Andrei Eremin.
Tickets are selling quickly; so don't miss the opportunity to see three of Melbourne's most exciting live acts on the same stage.
