JOIN THE MASSED FESTIVAL CHOIR - Don't miss this unique opportunity to work with one of Australia's finest, and funniest music educators, Richard Gill AO. Richard will rehearse the MISF Mixed Massed Chorus each morning, then conduct you at the FESTIVAL SHOWCASE FINALE on Monday June 11 in the beautiful Deakin Edge Theatre, Federation Square from 2.30pm.
WOMEN'S & MEN'S FESTIVAL CHORUSES - We are delighted to welcome back Claire Patti, creator of the hauntingly beautiful Co-cheol and The Velvetones this year to lead the Women's Festival Chorus, along with the award winning MISF Artistic Director Dr Jonathon Welch AM who will lead the Men's Festival Chorus at the FESTIVAL SHOWCASE FINALE on Monday June 11 at 2.30pm
SCHOOL WORKSHOPS & MASTERCLASSES - MISF will be presenting opportunities for School choirs and conductors to work with Richard Gill AO on Thursday June 7 and Friday June 8 in Deakin Edge Theatre, Federation Square. Adult community choirs will also have the chance to work with Richard in one-on-one masterclasses over the weekend. BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment!
THE SONG COMPANY - We are thrilled to present the internationally acclaimed, award winning The Song Company with Artistic Director, Antony Pitts, to MISF for the first time in "True Love Story" on Friday June 8 in Deakin Edge Theatre, Federation Square at 7.30pm.
NB Participants in MISF 2018 will receive free entry to this Recital and also have the chance to workshop with The Song Company on Friday June 8! Tickets to the general public are available at http://song.company/true-love-story
XL ARTS - After the stunning artistic success of the Australian premiere of Jonathan Dove's "Tobias and the Angel" at MISF 2017, we are honoured to welcome back the exciting young talents of XL Arts under the artistic direction of Liane Keegan, as they perform in recital!
TWO WORLD PREMIERES - MISF has a proud history of presenting new Australian works, and will present two world premiere works in 2018 under the inspiring creative direction of Olivier nominated composer, music theatre producer and performer Warren Wills with the School of Hard Knocks MEN ALOUD! and award winning CHOIR OF HARD KNOCKS.
FESTIVAL SHOWCASE CONCERTS - For those participating as an entire choir at MISF this year, you will also get the chance to shine at one of our FESTIVAL SHOWCASE CONCERTS at Deakin Edge Theatre over the weekend.
