Artist and gallery director of Artsite, Madeleine Tuckfield-Carrano builds on her established and highly recognisable Folded Light series in this September exhibition.
Taken to a new level of visceral intensity, these works draw the observer into light and heat: the primordial scent of volcanic darkness, a first flick of light, and the eternally cycling burst of light. Time progresses in textured bands of individual beginnings, journeys, endings, and rhythmically cycling.
"For those who ask how one functions as gallerist/curator and artist, the answer is simply that it definitely helps to be a gregarious recluse and, very possibly, cyclically obsessive. It certainly places me in a better position to understand the many forms of angst that artists experience leading up to a solo show."
Preview and purchase from 11am Saturday, 2nd September. Exhibition opens at 3pm on Sunday, 3rd September, and continues until the 24th. Opening hours are 11am - 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
