"Many Australian artists refer to themselves as Americana or Alt Country these days, but very few deliver the real thing as well as Georgia State Line. Hailing from Melbourne but sounding like Texas or Tennessee, this band represents the true essence of today's country music." - Bill Chambers
Following on from the release of their first 2017 single "Older Than I Am" which gained a four-star review from triple j Unearthed"s Dave Ruby Howe, and saw them play live to air on 102.7 3RRR"s Twang program with Denise Hylands, "Heaven Knows" takes the pace down a notch from its train-rattling predecessor, highlighting the band"s mature scope and breadth. The dreamy alt-country number showcases Delves" incredible vocal range, reminiscent of such Country greats as Tift Merit and Courtney Marie Andrews.
Produced and engineered under the seasoned guidance of Aj Bradford (Mornin", Evenin"- Ben Mastwyk, nominated for Best Country Album of the Age Music Victoria Awards), the Heaven Knows EP takes influences from Emmylou Harris, Andrew Combs and Barna Howard to name but a few, with the result seeing Georgia State Line sit seamlessly among them as if they were plucked straight out of The States.
Off the back of playing the Terang Country Music Festival and National Folk Festival earlier this year, as well as their "Older Than I Am" single launch at Brunswick"s Union Hotel, Georgia State Line are ready to play a run of regional intimate shows as part of their Heaven Knows EP Tour, hitting up Melbourne, Bendigo, Torquay, Belgrave and more.
