A multifaceted exhibition, 'Gold' is presented with large scale images in both portraiture and still life.
Using 'Gold" as a visual representation that literally smothers the human form, the works explore the constant misrepresentation and trickery that occurs on a daily basis and influences our views.
The everyday smothering of who is beautiful, what to consume and what should be considered valuable, convinces people who in this world has privilege, who holds power and who does not.
Repeatedly confronted with the alluring 'gold', we become exhausted, occasionally satisfied and always vulnerable.
Showing at Black Eye Gallery September 27 - October 9,
3/138 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst 2010
