Hannie Rayson"s Acclaimed One-Woman Show "Hello, Beautiful!" Comes to Melbourne and Regional Victoria
Hannie Rayson is one of our leading theatrical talents. From Hotel Sorrento to Extinction, she"s an author and dramatist who shows a mirror to how we Australians see ourselves. Her 2015 memoir, Hello, Beautiful! was critically acclaimed. As Hannie took the book on tour, from country town halls to woolsheds, people said to her "You should do your own show". So she did.

In this show, expect laughs, tears, and rapping. Yes, really. Hannie relives teenage loves (unsuitable, of course) called Boyce. She goes back to her childhood home in East Brighton and is told by a real estate agent that "It"s all pretentious bitches around here now".
"Ask yourself this: have I made the most of this one fleeting life? How disappointing to realise that you've lived your life at the pious end of the bell curve" - Hannie Rayson
Hannie Rayson went to Victorian College of the Arts to study acting, then realised she wasn"t an actress. The Dean, Peter Oyston, gave her keys to an empty office and told her "We need playwrights. Go and write a play."
In this deeply personal one-woman play, Hannie shares her life stories with the audience. From teenage loves to miscarriages in the Outback, and saving her son from life as a corporate stooge. The playwright owns the stage, like the actress she had once dreamed of being.
Don"t miss this opportunity to get close to Hannie Rayson, her wit and unique voice.
