The Cave in 2016 explores different forms of improvisation, through various musical forms across two stages, poetry and essays with our 'Writers In Residence Booth', discussions, DJing and spoken word performance with our 'Radio Station Booth', design and printmaking with our 'Printing Booth' where zine designers and print makers will collaborate with our writers in residence to make pamphlets, posters and zines, and creative design team John Fish will be exploring the improvisational theme with their lighting installations in the upstairs theatre. @1ndercore1sland #WondercoreIsland @WondercoreIsland

Everyone's favourite local producer Silentjay will headline on Friday 3rd June, playing with his 7 piece live band for the first time since opening for Thundercat in February, and from Brisbane by way of Japan Superfeather the QLD underground psych/garage/jazz guitar duelling group will headline on Saturday 4th June.

The improvisational Hiatus Kaiyote side-project Swooping Duck will play with special guests on Friday 3rd June. The Brisbane based improv-beat-making experimental trio Vulture St Tape Gang on Saturday 4th June, and Uncomfortable Science led by Lachlan Mitchell (Laneous) and Angus Leslie (Sex On Toast) as conductors, armed with a marker and a whiteboard on which they compose for a willing band to follow on both nights.
