Well known for their international sensation, 'Elixir' - smash hit of 2018 and winner of Best Circus and Physical Theatre Award at Adelaide Fringe (along with a slew of sold-out shows all over the world) - the boys from Head First Acrobats (HFA) premiere their latest high voltage offering, 'Railed', at this years' Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Running from the 12th to the 25th of September in the highly coveted and spectacular Wonderland Spiegeltent at Federation Square, 'Railed' is a Western-themed Circus Spectacular combining trademark physical talents, finely chiseled bodies, and impeccable comic timing. A place where bare-chested circus meets bare-knuckle bar fights, 'Railed' features edge of your seat displays of breath-taking acrobatics, mad-cap story-telling, and a rogues' gallery of the most wanted bad-asses this side of Dodge City.
"After the success of Elixir we felt we had achieved what we wanted to over the years touring it.", adds HFA Director, Thomas Gorham.
"We wanted to create a fresher, bigger show that had our trademark style. We were looking for a theme with a lot of flexibility in the characters, something that was very well entrenched in popular culture. In the end we decided on a Western and it's been incredibly popular with audiences. The success of the show relies not just on the skill of the performers, but on their charm and ability to engage with the audience. 'Railed' is hilarious, spontaneous and at the same time highly polished and surprising."
Directed by Debra Batton and John Walton, 'Railed' features much lauded Head First Acrobats ensemble members AJ Saltalamacchia, Callan Harris, Adam O'Connor-McMahon and Harley Timmermans. A racy, heart-stopping display of the finest acrobatics, leave your expectations at home, come to the wrong side of the tracks, and let the boys of Head First steal your hearts.
A multi-award-winning entertainment company, Head First Acrobats are based in Melbourne and are regulars on the international touring circuit. They specialise in acrobatic entertainment for festivals, theatres, corporate and street events.
