Heath Cullen launches his latest album OUTSIDERS

Heath Cullen returns to the Street Theatre this February 20 carrying his freshly minted third album, OUTSIDERS. Recorded over just two days at the legendary Sing Sing studios with Elvis Costello's longtime band The Imposters, this recording marks the first occasion that The Imposters as a unit have collaborated with a singer other than Costello - quite a coup for a lad from the NSW far south coast.

HEATH CULLEN - OUTSIDERS ALBUM LAUNCH

with special guests THE YEARLINGS

Heath Cullen hails from the hills surrounding the tiny rural village of Candelo in South Eastern NSW - an idyllic and far-flung corner of Australia that he still calls his home. His 2013 album The Still And The Steep, recorded in Los Angeles and New York with legendary guests Jim Keltner (drummer to the likes of Bob Dylan, John Lennon, The Traveling Wilburys), Larry 'The Mole' Taylor (bassist of Woodstock heroes Canned Heat, Tom Waits), and guitarist Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Marianne Faithful), also received great critical acclaim and was nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.

At the Street, Heath will launch OUTSIDERS together with a five piece band, playing the album in its entirety along with a hand picked selection of fan favorites from his back catalogue, his only Australian show before heading to the USA for several months.

RHYTHMS MAGAZINE have declared OUTSIDERS "One of the finest, most inspired Australian rock albums in quite some time, the work of a man well on top of his game", the album has garnered praise in four-star reviews from the DAILY TELEGRAPH and the CANBERRA TIMES, and the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD exclaims "Heath Cullen has it right. If you're going to hire the Imposters, Elvis Costello's longest running backing crew, give them meat on which to feast and give them room. They land everything perfectly."

"Cullen mines a well where names such as Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits float to the surface." WEEKEND AUSTRALIAN

"Incredible.. Powerful.. Mesmerising.. There's something about Cullen. Something absorbing. That whole tall, dark and handsome stranger get-up and princely stage presence he exudes leaves punters' eyes following him about the platform wherever he moves. And the show is suave and captivating .. that proves once more the integrity and musical bones that reverberate throughout Cullen. The gent is a genuine troubadour" - RHYTHMS MAGAZINE
