Jordan Devlin is a multi-disciplinary artist, specialising in painting and mixed-media collage. He has appeared in 12 group shows throughout Australia in the last three years, as well as featuring in the September/October edition of Vogue Living.
His work infuses the physical and emotional aspects of traditional painting, with a wealth of modern, historic and mythic allusion. He encourages the overlooked and introspective. Many of the materials are found or salvaged, invoking significance and value into otherwise redundant objects.
His style conjures forms through skilfully erratic brushwork, bold contours, and semi-abstraction. The combination of technical awareness, gestural movement and considered subject matter results in highly idiosyncratic imagery.
