Sekisui House in collaboration with new media design group - Fish Lane Studios Limited, will undertake their inaugural Artist in Residence program which will feature internationally acclaimed Japanese water colourist and teacher Yuko Nagayama.
Yuko will be exhibiting and creating new artwork during her residency at Sekisui's Design Centre Yaroomba from June 5-12.
This visit will also include a workshop during the final two days, which is available to a limited number of participants to experience first hand, immersive water colour experimentation taught by Yuko herself.
Wyn Vogel from Fish Lane Studios said she was thrilled and honoured that Yuko had agreed to be a part of the inaugural Sunshine Coast Artist in Residence program.
"Our goal in inviting Yuko to the Sunshine Coast, is to showcase the beauty of the Region to the international art world to entice them to create something unique with their creative skills inspired by our location and scenery.
"To have someone of Yuko's standing in the international art community come to the Sunshine Coast to share her experiences and techniques over 8 days is a tremendous coup for our region.
"Yuko travels the world, exhibiting and sharing her techniques and love of water colour so it's a great opportunity for local artists to learn and share from someone who is fully involved in the international art scene," Wyn said.
This exhibition will be a one of a kind opportunity to witness Yuko creating beautiful watercolour creations in the heart of the picturesque Sunshine Coast.
