Life Study with guest teacher Ingrid Morley - either TUESDAYS or SUNDAYS
Term l "“ 2019 Wired! Working with the life figure:
"The experience I have as a sculptor, my artistic practice and my teaching experience come together in my passion for the enduring relationship of learning and encountering the ongoing possibilities present between the artist and the life model. Discover how poetry and engineering, using the most complex form in nature "“ the human body, continues to inspire generations of artists. Experience this unique communication whilst observing the model from life for the development of a 3D work." Ingrid Morley
Learn and develop the basic principals of sculpture, using rhythm negative space, and composition to make a sculpture in wire, or use your wire work to act as an armature for modelling in clay "“ to mould and cast in plaster.
With playful exercises explore the possibilities of wire and clay as material for sculpture, with the flexibility of working with mixed media. The basics of tool handling, clay management, wire techniques, structure and stability and texture will be discussed and explored. Your final work will be a series in wire, wire and air-dried clay, wood and plaster or a traditional modelled work in clay, moulded and cast in plaster.
