2019 marks the fifteenth anniversary of MARS Gallery. We will be celebrating with a special group show that will span across all three levels of the gallery and bring together artists that have exhibited with MARS over the years.

Featuring the works of MARS represented and affiliated artists, including Daniel Agdag, Stephen Haley and Jason Sims, this group exhibition will present an array of contemporary artworks by those that have shared and contributed towards the MARS journey.

"All of the artists that I have worked with and that have exhibited at MARS have produced work that is unique, technically accomplished, beautifully implemented and of the now. The most exciting thing has been working together to build their careers and watching their growth from emerging to mid-career artists."
- Andy Dinan, MARS Director

This show encompasses painting, photography, sculpture, and video and epitomises the extensive and varied art practice that has been exhibited throughout MARS history. Featuring an attached catalogue essay by Simon Gregg, Director of Gippsland Gallery, it showcases new artwork created for the exhibition as well as artist's early and archived work.

Melbourne Art Rooms opened its doors in 2004. After a decade in an iconic dairy in Port Melbourne, MARS Gallery moved to a new purpose-built, state of the art gallery in Windsor. The architecture, environmental design and fit-out of the new MARS enabled the showing of challenging new media including sound sculpture, video installation and light art alongside contemporary painting, sculpture and works on paper. MARS has since forged ahead with a passion to promote contemporary art and artists in Australia.

"Long after my adventure with MARS came to an end I continued to watch Andy and her gallery family go from strength to strength. The exhibitions just got bigger and more ambitious and eventually she outgrew Port Melbourne and moved to Windsor to be closer to the action. When I first visited the new gallery it took my breath away."
- Simon Gregg, Director of Gippsland Art Gallery
