Mount Magnet District High School's End Of School Year Celebrations with AWESOME Arts
Dancer Rachel Ogle and theatre maker and puppeteer Rachael Woodward travelled to Mount Magnet District High School last December to explore the performing arts with students in a Creative Challenge residency with AWESOME Arts.
Mount Magnet District High School student brought their energy, focus, enthusiasm and imaginations to each workshop playing a range of dance and theatre games, sharing stories, making images, and exploring different types of props and puppetry.
The Students collectively decided on a style and story to build into a stunning performance about the sun, the moon, the stars and the ocean. Children were thrilled to present their piece at the final presentation night of the school year using live narration, object puppetry, dance and a shimmering disco ball! The whole community was blown away by the creative capabilities of participants and their confidence. One of the participant's proud parents was quoted while leaving the assembly saying, "that is the best thing I've ever seen. It really shows what the kids are capable of and that they can do anything!"
This Creative Challenge residency was proudly supported by Healthway with the Go For 2&5 Message.
