The Melbourne four piece, My Echo, packed up the van and headed to Adelaide for a couple of weeks in April with producer Hadyn Buxton (Trial Kennedy, Ecca Vandal) to record the album. 24 hours a day, for 18 days, could stretch a lot of friendships, but going into lock down to record the album brought the band of mates closer together, as a band and as friends.
Recorded live, the debut album Brothers is full of fast, loud and punchy tracks, recorded at Adelaide's Capital Sound Studio, with the intention of capturing the bands adored raw live energy. The result being 14 brutally honest, ballsy and dynamic punk rock songs.
"The album touches on relationship troubles and triumphs, beginnings and breakdowns, whether that be with ladies, friends or family. Bad habits you can't kick and probably don't want to, and personal health. We feel it is as angry as it is sorry, as proud as it is vulnerable, and most importantly, entirely honest, whether we liked it or not." The band said of the album.
My Echo has been cramming sweaty rooms around the country since their formation in 2011. Touring with the likes of industry long players Jimmy Eat World, Bodyjar, Shihad and Kingswood. Blunt Magazine flagged them as Band To Watch and they've performed at Groovin The Moo Bendigo. Now My Echo take 'Old and Grey' on the road playing Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
