Led by the endearingly honest Rhea Caldwell with members of Courtney Barnett, Coastbusters and 19th Century Strongmen, Baby Blue offers frank confessions and unabashed tales of intimate moments atop a distinct surf-garage-pop sound. Fire And Ice' is the complete embodiment of this. Inspired by a Robert Frost poem of the same name, Fire And Ice' offers jangly guitar riffs, reverberated vocals, momentous bass lines, and psychedelic tropes to carry a cathartic, almost meditative mantra of nonchalant vacancy and human autonomy.
"I was staying at my mothers house in Lennox Head fiddling around with an acoustic guitar there and thinking a lot about how the world is on its way to destroying humans through climate change and how my relationship at the time was falling apart because my partner and I were very different people with different ways of navigating and communicating our emotions. I just started playing the first chords over and over again to try to take my mind away from itself and the song spilled out from there. Luckily, in these times I find solace in the fact that nothing is permanent and I guess that's what I'm essentially trying to say with this song. Everything ends so do what you like with your life."
