On the Home Front 10 & 11 May 2016
Like much of Australia during the war years, Queensland was a divided society. Debates about conscription, the changing role of women and the growing number of broken families characterised a society that was struggling to cope with rapid systemic change.Join us for the opening evening and full day of presentations about the social challenges and changes Queensland experienced during the First World War. Leading war historian and keynote speaker Professor Joan Beaumont will open the symposium with a discussion about the experience of war by those at home.
Part of Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation, proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
