Multi-awarded Virtual Reality experiences by Sophie Ansel and Christophe Bailhache will be shown through headsets. Guardians of the Kingdom is making its premiere in Australia. Narrated by Sylvia Earle, it is a 15-minute beautiful story that explores how the relationship between humans and whales has changed for the better in the Kingdom of Tonga.
Out of the Blue tells the inspiring story of a Mexican fishing family who drive revolutionary change, implementing conservation practices in their waters to encourage marine life to once more flourish.
Photographer Christophe Bailhache showcases a selection of his unique panoramic images, taken during nine years of Underwater Earth expeditions. Through QR codes read on any mobile device, viewers will be transported into the images allowing them to explore each unique underwater world in 360-degree vision.
Christophe co-invented the unique SVII camera that has allowed him to capture the underwater panoramic images worldwide. This revolutionary camera will be on display at the exhibition.
This exhibition reveals the curious and diverse life under the waves for people to admire, love and ultimately protect. It will compliment a full 5 days of festival events about the oceans. Activities include Science in your Swimmers talks, workshops and exhibitions, music, films, stalls, food and entertainment. Billed as the place to Sea Change, festival goers can also join blue yoga, a beach clean and a Paddleout for Protection. See a full schedule of activities on the website www.oceanloversfestival.com
Out of Sight, Out of Mind will be open daily for free from 10am to 5pm.
