One of Asia-Pacific's leading contemporary art galleries, Sullivan+Strumpf is delighted to announce its representation of Ry David Bradley.
Born in Australia and based in London, Bradley is known for his process-based practice, which investigates the nature of painting in an era where the boundaries between picture, video, and virtual reality are increasingly blurred.
Sullivan+Strumpf, founders and directors, Joanna Strumpf and Ursula Sullivan said Bradley is an artist at the forefront of exploration into the impact of digital technologies on contemporary art.
"The discussion about our digital age has been difficult for artists to approach, but Ry's work stands out for addressing the theme with visual sophistication. His complex works examine the way we see the present - in relation to the past and future - in a way that is visually intriguing and beautiful," said Ursula Sullivan.
"Ry has extensive knowledge of the history of art and painting and is ambitious to progress the fundamentals of this wonderful, but fraught medium. His current use of tapestry as the vehicle for this is a brilliant tangent in the conversation."
Sullivan+Strumpf Singapore will host Bradley's solo exhibition on 7 September - 5 October 2019 and his work will be featured by Sullivan+Strumpf at Sydney Contemporary at Carriageworks on 12 - 15 September 2019.
Bradley's work is represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Krakow, Lyon Housemuseum, the Aldala Collection, as well as significant private collections in America, Europe, Asia and Australia. His recent exhibitions include Search History at The Hole, New York (2019) and HEART with Jon Rafman at Herning Museum of Contemporary Art in Denmark (2019).
