3D printing is made for sharing. Open source software and shared maker spaces mean that anyone can try their hand at creating. During the industrial revolution, the machine was used to standardise everything. Now, mass production is replaced by mass customisation. Designers (and just about anyone with a computer) can now realise entirely new methods of creativity.

This talk is for designers, makers, tinkerers, creators and anyone interested in the creative innovation made possible by 3D printing. Learn about the digital fabrication processes artists like Lousje and Louis are experimenting with to build upon traditional modes of making to create something entirely new.

Lousje Skala is a traditionally trained silversmith who has expanded her skills and resources to include non-traditional tools, such as computer-aided design software, 3D printing and CNC milling. Louis Pratt digitally distorts 3D scans to produce sculptures using 3D printing. Pratt won the inaugural Mt Buller Sculpture prize, 2013. Last year saw his sculptures represented in every major sculpture award in Australia.
