Simon Finn: Beyond the Frustum exhibition. 10 November"“ 21 December

Beyond the Frustum' is a new body of work by Simon Finn concerning representations of oceanic surface. Frustum is used to describe the illusory three-dimensional section within computer graphic calculations that has been carved from the pictorial region. The area beyond the separation is fertile ground for Finn's creative exploration into the variable syntheses between artist, environment and technology. The presented drawings, animation and sculpture traverse the area of simulated and real depictions, buoyed by the motif of the ocean surface. The thin layer that separates ocean and air, coupled with the dissection of data becomes subject matter that comes into being somewhere between experimental verification and poetic speculation.
