Taking over from retiring CEO, Piroozi Desai-Keane OAM after 40 years with the organisation, 15 in the top job, Brown brings with her a fresh perspective and new ideas to ensure Sydney Eisteddfod, now in its 89th year, can emerge from the last 2 years of COVID disruptions to live events to present a 2022 Festival that engages and excites.
“I have a passion for encouraging the next generation to achieve their dreams.”
“I jumped at the opportunity to head up Sydney Eisteddfod. I already have such great ideas and ambitions for its future as they provide performance opportunities for all”
Her dedication to music education over the last 15 years has included positions with well-known music organisations such as the Australian Music Examination Board, The Australian Youth Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra, Musica Viva and most recently as manager of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.
Sydney Eisteddfod’s festival of over 300 performing arts events for young people aged 6 – 35 runs from May – September in venues across Sydney.
Entries for 2022 open January 24.
