The Necks are one of the most distinctive and enthralling groups in music. The hard-earned, almost telepathic rapport that Chris Abrahams, Lloyd Swanton and Tony Buck have developed over the past 26 years is truly one of the most compelling in live music and it's a privilege to have them back here at The Street during their 2016 Australian tour.

The Necks offer a phenomenal musical experience, unlike any piano trio you may have heard. Masters of their own musical language of long-form improvisation, each night they step onto the stage with no pre-conceived ideas of what they will play "“ they and the audience will go on a sonic journey that is created in the moment and in that room.

In the last 12 months alone, the trio has sold out many performance during their last major tour of Australia and two massive 20-date tours of Europe. On top of that, released their 18th album Vertigo in Australia, Europe and North America to great acclaim, they toured China for the first time and were a key part of the hugely popular Discreet + Oblique concerts presented at the Supersense Festival of the Ecstatic in Melbourne (Arts Centre) and the Transcender Festival in London (The Barbican), which reimagined Brian Eno's groundbreaking Discreet Music album on the occasion of its 40th birthday.
