Join Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter, Portly and the "famous" Mr Toad as they return this Summer in Kenneth Grahame's immortal story of life on the riverbank.

Set at the start of a glorious Spring season, this timeless classic begins with an unlikely friendship when Mole meets Ratty one day. Through Ratty, Mole meets Badger, Otter, Portly and Toad, and the motley group end up on wonderful and wild adventures - battling foes, supporting each other, and learning about the importance of friendship.

"I love people approaching me after a show, telling me what a wonderful time they've had and how coming to see 'The Wind in the Willows' is a tradition for them. How they saw it when they were children and are now bringing children of their own.", explains Director Otis Elston.

"The 2018 production sees new actors playing different instruments, with fresh takes on the songs. Toad's ride also got a bit of an upgrade. Our new Poop Poop Car is sure to turn heads as we cruise through the gardens this Summer!"

There's fun for young and old as the Head Chief Rabbit transforms the audience into rabbits with a waggle of the ears and a wiggle of the nose. Children are encouraged to get involved in the action and given every opportunity to sing along and become part of the adventure. With laughs and surprises for children and adults alike, this is interactive theatre at its best.

Not just delighting audiences and critics alike, the Australian Shakespeare Company has also created work for hundreds of artists and creatives over the past three decades. It is a testament to the pioneering work the company has done in the industry, and the vital support it gives to Melbourne's Arts community.

'The Wind in the Willows is Australia's best-loved affordable family entertainment. Bring the kids, family and friends, pack a picnic, and join in the fun!
