Following a successful debut in 2019 with more than $1.8 million in sales, Affordable Art Fair will return to Australia’s cultural capital 1-4 September 2022 at its new home, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Showcasing 40 Australian galleries, the Fair will feature a mixture of emerging and established artists and a suite of interactive workshops over four days. From contemporary oil paintings to life-size sculptures, there will be something to suit every taste, space and spend.

A not-to-be-missed takeover of the Abbotsford Convent gallery spaces, Weave It!—a brand new installation that is free, hands-on, and gets everyone involved in craft activities—created by renowned multidisciplinary textile artists Lisa Waup (Gunditjmara and Torres Strait Islander) and John Brooks. Inspired by the work of Lisa and John, Convent Kids of all ages and their families, will weave a wonderland out of bright, fun and colourful textiles made from recycled and found materials. Get creating and run wild when you and your child learn to make DIY string, tassels, looms and embellishments. Help reimagine this exhibition by adding your own creations to the space while gaining insights on recycling, material ethics, DIY culture and collaboration. Cost: Free!
